Take on a new challenge...
Supporting the work of the Chaplains are teams of Chaplaincy Volunteers:
Religious [Faith] Chaplaincy Volunteers who visit patients of the same faith or religion who have been referred to them. We have Bahá'í, Buddhist, Christian, male and female Muslim and Pagan Chaplaincy Volunteers available to see patients and their families.
Pastoral [Spiritual] Chaplaincy Volunteers who visit particular wards or departments offering basic spiritual care to all patients who are not critically ill. They can refer a patient who wants religious care or who would like a visit from a Chaplain. Pastoral Chaplaincy Volunteers come from all walks of life and are people of all different faiths and none
All Chaplaincy Volunteers are required to complete the All Wales ‘Spiritual Care Volunteers’ course which takes 6 weeks. The Course covers topics such as:
what are pastoral, spiritual and religious care?
loss and bereavement
the practicalities of visiting patients in hospitals and other healthcare environments
